My Handkerchiefs

For as long as I can remember, I have carried a Handkerchief in the right pocket of my shorts/longs. When my Grandson started wearing shorts that had a pocket, I bought him a set of Handkerchiefs. After several years he gave them back to me. They joined my pile.

I intend to continue to carry a handkerchief in my right pocket. The reason I am mentioning packets again is because my cellphone is usually in my left pocket. If I had to drop one of the pocketables, it would undoubtedly be the cellphone. I have always been, and will remain, a Hnadkerchief man. As for TISSUES, follow the link included below.

I guess I should add that the handkerchief that I carry
serves several purposes:

  1. I use it to clear (blow) my nose.
  2. When I am carrying a bunch of keys, they find themselves in my right pocket below my handkerchief. If the handkerchief is still folded (not yet used) when I put keys into my pocket, I remove it and rumple it up. This ensures that it better secures the keys that are now lying in my right pocket beneath the handkerchief.
  3. If I am out of the house and I injure myself, I use the handkerchief to stem the flow of blood and clean myself up. Once or twice the handkerchief has served as a bandage, once for quite a serious tear inflicted to my right leg below the knee.
  4. If someone I know is shedding a tear or two and my handkerchief is still clean, I will offer it to whoever it is that is upset.
  5. If I find myself outside on a sunny day without a hat, I tie knots at the corners of my Handkerchief in order to secure it on my head in lieu of a hat.
