The stepping stones to ...

The two photographs included below show the piece of garden between the bedroom/bathroom walls of our unit, and the corral fence we share with our neighbour. The unit is semi-detached in terms of a shared double car-ports on the other side. If we want to walk from the porch door via the garden around to the back door, the route that does not involve gates, is the one using the piece of garden described earlier.

It is also the route the dogs use if the back door is shut, and they need to get to the back gate adjacent to the courtyard. They need to do this every morning, as a gentleman know as Ardt will be walking past with his dog. He will also be giving treats to all the dogs in the complex who are waiting at their back gates.

So what has this got to do with the pavers on the side of our unit? Well in the morning the grass on the side of our unit is usually wet. It is also somewhat MUDDY! MUD that the dogs cart into the house once they have received their treats from Ardt. Mud that irritates my wife, Edith.

So there you have it. The pavers are for the dogs!

Given that these pavers are seriously heavy, and that twenty of them had to be laid, Edith and I are extremely grateful to our Grandson Ryan who came and did the heavy work. Ryan has been helping Edith and I around the house since he was able to walk, and he is still doing it!!!!! A much bigger and stronger lad than he was when he started out. He had to be. The pavers were not going to become a path if I had to do it.
