Two years ago Edith and I traveled to Clarens en route to Bethlehem where we would pick up a Scottish Terrier puppy. To make the trip worth while we stayed over in Clarens for a few days. While we were in Clarens we drove out to Fouriesburg and were amazed by scenic the country side we drove through was.
During the drive we resolved to come back to Clarens in order to ride to Fouriesburg and back from Clarens on our eBikes. Well an opportunity to go to Clarens arose when our daughter, Heather asked us whether we we like to join her and her family in Clarens for five days during the July School Holidays. She had booked, 'Die Ou Kliphuis', a wonderful old Sandstone home in which we had previously stayed.
Bruce accompanied us and we took Edith and my eBikes along as the visit would afford an opportunity to do the, 'Fouriesburg' eBike ride. As I was unable to ride, Bruce rode my bike and together with Andrew and Ryan. As was unable to ride, I drove the Support/Backup Vehicle. Heather and Rachel also drove to Fouriesburg and once we were there, Coffee and Scones were on the menu.
Rachel rode Ryan's eBike back to Clarens and Heather replaced me as the Support/Backup Vehicle. So, a dream had become a most enjoyable reality, and I can move on to thinking about a long ride somewhere in the Karoo!
