Leashes OR Lashes

5 September 2025
Fergus

I live in a complex in Howick with my wife and two Scottish Terriers. Come December we will have been here for four years. It is a lovely establishment that affords sweeping views over Howick in the direction of Hilton. It is well run, and while we do not know a lot of the residents, they atmosphere is good. I run a weather station and web camera and both are accessible from my home page.

Our dogs generally enjoy two walks a day and these take place on the premises, mostly along the complex fence. We generally release them from their leashes while we are walking along the complex fence. Most of the residents do not walk regularly on the complex property.

Our dogs like all other dogs, poop, and I carry a plastic bin liner packet to, "Scoop the poop". The poop comes home and sometimes I use the walk packet to remove poop from our unit's lawn. As the bin liner packet is quite long, I mostly double wrap, by doubling back. The packet goes into a special POOP bin that has a lid and stands in the garden.

Dogs, leashes and poop, the tynes of the Devil's Trident. I surrender our walk.

From today, the 5th day in the month of September during the 2025th year since the start of the Christian Era, when we want to walk the dogs off their leads we will leave the Protea Gardens property. When doing so, we will probably mostly cross the Currys Post Road and then walk along the path that runs above the ridge on the other side of Currys Post Road.

From that lofty position, the dogs will look down on Protea Gardens if they look back across the Currys Post Road. As for me, I will enjoy the view and Edith's company, and be ready with my Poo Bag should it be needed.

If you have any comments, corrections, suggestions or plain criticism,
I would appreciate it if you would communicate the same to me.
