Rachel's Grannys Hat
20 September 2026
Pincushion Protea

The image that appears in the first frame of the video included below, that I received from Google Photos, shows my Granddaughter Rachel wearing her Grandmother's hat. If you view the video, you will see that the video consists of a sequence of photographs that contain FLOWERS! These photographs have been selected by Google Photos from the various photographs I taken and stored under the umbrella of` my Google Account in the Google Photos Database.

To date I have received numerous such videos from Google Photos containing photographs chosen using a theme chosen by Google Photos. The themes include amongst others, places we have lived, places we have visited, and various members of my family. I have never had a problem with what they are (/seem to) be doing.

So what happened here? My guess is that the software failed. Could I go so far as to say, the Artificial Intelligence (AI) used by Google failed. Luckily I have never uploaded a photograph of a Pansy Flower floating on the water in our toilet.
