My recovery was progressing well until about the 11th October when I seemed to suffer an injury to the upper right side of my chest. I also simultaneously developed an odd Flu-like infection. I did not feel great and the in-house Dr E R Dempster insisted on me visiting my Doctor.
All the Doctor could find was that my Blood Pressure was very low and he took measures to rectify that. Blood tests and Compression Socks
Well it took me a week to recovery, I am now wearing Compression Socks, and while I could be tempted to say that no one is any the wiser, I would be wrong. I learnt that Surgeons who have to perform length procedures, often wear Compression Socks and here is why: (AI response)
- Combat Fatigue: Standing in one place or moving very little for 8 to 12 hours strains leg muscles and causes fluid to pool in the lower extremities.
- Improve Blood Flow: Graduated compression socks apply the tightest pressure at the ankle and gradually loosen upward, helping push blood back toward the heart.
- Prevent Swelling and Varicose Veins: Regular use reduces lower-leg edema (swelling) and lowers the long-term risk of developing varicose veins.
